FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Morgan County Tourism Alliance Presents 3rd Annual Morgan County Squarecrow Showcase during the month of October 2022.

Wartburg, Tennessee – The Morgan County Tourism Alliance (MCTA) will host the 2rd Annual Squarecrow Showcase from October 10 - November 15, 2022 in the Morgan County Courthouse Square featuring fall themed “Squarecrows” created by individuals/families, civic, non-profit organizations, schools, churches, clubs, businesses and government departments from across the county.

The fun competition will allow community members to show off their creativity in fall themed displays while competing for cash prizes and bragging rights. The entire community can get involved by viewing the displays in-person and voting for their favorite displays in the People’s Choice category between

All votes made in person will be added to the social media contest tally, which will run concurrently on the Morgan County Tourism Alliance Official Facebook page. The displays also make great seasonal photo opportunities (Be sure to tag your social media photos #mctamoco.) The Winner in the showcase will be announced on Facebook in early November.

Entry fees are $20 for individual/family, school and non-profit participants and $40 for businesses, civic and church organizations, clubs and government offices. Sponsorships are also available for $100 which includes showcase entry and inclusion in event advertising and a listing on the event web page.

Examples of Squarecrow entries from last year’s contest to be used as inspiration can be found on the Morgan County Tourism Alliance website (www.mctamoco.com). Rules and Entry Forms can also be found on the MCTA website.

“The last two year’s displays really added a festive and creative element to the Courthouse Square,” event organizer George Hawver stated. “This year, we’re hoping more businesses take advantage of this opportunity to not only display their creativity but also advertise their business in a central location. It is so nice to hear the comments from people, especially children who like to get up and get their photos taken with the displays. I’m hoping for more participation this year and look forward to seeing everyone’s creativity on display.

The Morgan County Tourism Alliance is a volunteer organization dedicated to development and promotion of tourism in the county and surrounding area.
